The Importance of Vision

There’s a distinction between vision and sight; they aren’t the same thing. According to Hebrews 11:1, faith is the evidence of things not seen. So, while sight is a function of the eyes, vision is fueled by faith! It overlooks our current circumstances and allows us to see the possibilities of what we can have and become. Contrarily, what we can physically see will always restrict us to the present.

Vision gives you a clear, mental perspective of the results you want to achieve—it’s not a vague dream or wishful thinking. It’s a vivid picture of your future that will inspire you to take action to make your goals a reality.

The vision for your life or your business is a practical guide for making decisions, devising plans and setting tangible goals. Simply put, it helps you identify your dreams and give them clarity. So you’re not idly wasting your purpose and time on things that don’t matter, vision strictly focuses your attention on what you want. It also reinforces your daily affirmations. Your words have power so make sure your speech lines up with the vision you have for your life.
It’s equally important to get into the habit of putting your goals down on paper. Habakkuk 2:22 tells us to write the vision and make it plain. Learn how to make the Law of Attraction work for you! Create a tool, like a vision board to help clarify and concentrate your focus on a specific goal. Life will present you with challenges that can veer you off course but when your vision is clear and in constant view, you’ll have an ever present reminder of where you want to be. You won’t sway with every opportunity that comes across your path, but you’ll stay headed in the direction that you chose for yourself.

Most importantly, don’t forget to think big! Imagination is one of the greatest tools God has given you to make your dreams become a reality. However, you must expand the scope of your mind. The great athlete Muhammad Ali once said, “The man who has no imagination has no wings”. In order to exercise the freedom to dream, break any barriers to negative thinking. When your thinking is low, you limit your potential to be greater, live better and achieve more. Take the limits off and let your vision guide you towards the destiny-filled life you were called to lead.
